Horny Goat Weed with Maca, The most Potent Aphrodisiac

Horny Goat Weed with Maca, The most Potent Aphrodisiac

What is Horny Goat Weed?

Horny Goat Weed – besides being the most impressively named supplement on the market – is by itself a pretty effective aphrodisiac.  Just look what it did to the goats! It got its name from a story of a goat herder who walked his herd in the hills one evening and was shocked to see the effect on the randy little rams and ewes – they were playing like kids!

The other name is Yin Yang Hou. For Yin and Yang – as they found heaven on earth when they joined – clearly with the help of this little perennial. The other name for the supplement is brain tonic of the immortals – with Yin and Yang being the immortals from myth in question.  The supplement is meant to delay ejaculation – which means Yang can seek life force from many Yin.  The more Yin he takes power from the longer he lives.

This is an important herb in Chinese medicine.  It is part of a species of plant called Epimedium.  It has green leaves, which the Chinese traditionally brew as a tea, which they prescribe to treat erectile dysfunction and other stress conditions.  The active ingredient of the herb is a flavonoid called icariin.  This is the same biochemical present in Viagra.  It is a “warming” herb, in other words it raises the heart rate and increases blood flow – with obvious benefits to our masculinity!

What is Maca?

Maca grows in the hills of Peru, in the plateau of the Andes Mountains. It has been cultivated as a vegetable crop for over 3000 years and is a relative of the radish.  Because Maca thrives in a harsh environment, drawing nutrients out of rock and sparse soil, it is a prized holistic medicine used by Andean tribes.

It is the root of the Maca is used to make medicine.  This brings “heat” to the blood and is often used by ancient herbalists for “tired blood” or anaemia. It is also recommended for hormone imbalance.  Hormone imbalance is the leading cause of loss of sexual drive in men and women, and for low mood and increased anxiety.

The Peruvian locals tend to use their crop of Maca to feed their livestock, to increase the fertility of the animals.  Therefore, Maca, like Horny Goat Weed, is used as a potent aphrodisiac – not just in animals – but in humans too.

The root is a powerful mix of fatty acids and amino acids, which have other impressive health benefits for those who choose to take it.  The mineral that is thought to balance hormones is Zinc – but the root is also a good source of calcium, magnesium, iron, as well as Vitamins B1, B2, B12, C and E.  In short, Maca will make you better in bed merely because it is likely to make you feel so much better of yourself!

Why do Horny Goat Weed and Maca work so well together?

Horny Goat Weed with Maca

Both Horny Goat Weed and Maca share more in common than turning animals into manic sex machines.  Both are adaptogens, which is a substance that helps us cope with various stresses – whether physical, environmental or psychological.

The RenaiSante Institute of Integrative Medicine claims that there is a lot of evidence, therefore, to suggest that both supplements together can improve sexual health.  Our sexual arousal levels, whether man or woman, is most impacted by internal and external stresses. This means by dealing with this factor, the combination of herbs reawakens our body’s natural functioning.  The institute points to both clinical evidence and anecdotal evidence to support the claim that the combination is a helpful support to people struggling with loss of libido and other sexual dysfunctions.

There are other health benefits too.  The ancient herbalists in both China and Peru were more interested in these plants ability to heal the whole body.  Horny Goat Weed is an excellent tonic for the renal system – helping to rejuvenate.  Maca is packed with important vitamins and minerals that support the well-being of the whole person.  Both herbs have been cited as having potential cancer curative and preventative possibilities.  They both work against free radicals that deprive cells of oxygen, which in turn cause cells to turn cancerous.  Both also work as anti-inflammatories.  Inflammation in the body can result in cardio-vascular problems – with issues with the heart and stroke.

It may be that the potent, fast acting, sexual bump is why you buy these two herbs together.  Both alone is a potent aphrodisiac – so together they are likely to bring real warmth and masculinity to sexual situations.  However, there are more reasons than just our sex life to bring these two supplements together in one handy capsule!

In short.

For over 3000 years in Peru, likely longer in China, tribal wise men have been harvesting Epimedium, known as Horny Goat Weed, and Maca to solve the ills of their tribe.  They have ground up the root or brewed the leaves to provide a tonic for their people – to fight against the stresses of life – both physical and psychological.  Anecdotal evidence that lasts over centuries deserves some serious respect.

Both herbs have a rich history and myth that supports their use as an aphrodisiac.  Horny Goat Weed includes the same biochemical element as Viagra – without any of the really nasty side effects of the pharmaceutical.  Maca works to balance the hormones, with zinc your testosterone and estrogen levels will reach a healthier balance and help you to perform better, naturally – and in the long term.

And this is the real reason to use both together.  Horny Goat Weed – which can be bought as GH-2 from your health shop – is an instant boost to your potency.  It will metaphorically warm your blood and make you feel you can last for the longest of times.  Maca, on the other hand, will work on your long term sexual health – battling the effects of life and ageing on your body, meaning you will continue to perform time after time!
